Building Up Facts For Students; students utilize tools of the NOOK color to access research databases, internet, read books and primary resource documents.

GeoFitness

Pam Miller, Horizon Middle School

GeoFitness package – a class set of GeoMats, which are low impact mats with numbers and symbols and instructional materials for the physical education teacher. Enhances coordination, motor skills and number sense.

Urban Gardening

Brooke Spencer, Overland High School

Students develop hands-on and relevant experience with measuring and analyzing both abiotic and biotic soil characteristics. Students will grow and distribute food grown in the program.

Rapid Prototyping 3D Design and Modeling

Brian Huang, Overland High School

Mulit-disciplinary engineering and product design unit using a rapid prototype 3D printer to provide students with immediate visual and tangible feedback on design. Build solid models and designs that would be difficult to cut or shape by hand.

LabQuest Interface

Multi-disciplinary LabQuest Interface will allow students to use existing probe-ware to collect their own lab data.

Creative writing and ELA students will compose a written narrative of memorable literacy experiences, format it into a picture book and use it for the basis of storytelling.

We ARE Cottonwood

Melissa Kreider, Cottonwood Creek Elementary

Using Flip video cameras, microphones, and movie creation software, K-5 students will create a digital story and history of Cottonwood to deepen the students’ understanding of writing, communication and collaboration.
