How Our Garden Grows
Educator Initiative Grants (EIG) are awarded to individual classroom teachers. The grants are designed to encourage, facilitate, recognize and reward INNOVATIVE AND CREATIVE instructional approaches used in accomplishing program objectives. These Grants are a greenhouse for nurturing new instructional programs like Reading Together. They nurture alternative teaching methods, cultivate character, develop master teachers through mentoring and support advancing scholarships in the areas of Science Technology Engineering and Math. (STEM) Grant opportunities are open to individuals or teams teaching within Cherry Creek Schools. Grants requests of up to $1,000 are awarded.
**The Educator Initiative Grant Committee has decided to change the current annual grant cycle. This year the committee increased the total distributed funds in the fall from $10,000 to $20,000 instead of granting $10,000 in the fall and $10,000 in the spring. The Foundation feels that this timeline is a better fit with the school year. A detailed timeline will be posted as soon as it is determined. There will not be a Spring cycle in this current year 2012-2013 but applications for the 2013 FALL grant cycle will be available in May.
