Our Demographics
Our district spans a large geographical area and a wide variety of needs.
Cherry Creek Cherry Creek School District spans an area of 108 square miles and serves more than 50,000 students. We are a microcosm of the racial and ethnic diversity represented in the global workforce. With this wonderful range of neighborhoods, backgrounds and cultural differences comes a great many students who bring very real needs to school each day:
- Among our 50,000 students, 27% qualify for free and reduced lunch, an indicator of poverty
- 15% have a primary language that is not English
- 10% are in special education programs
- More than 40% are students of color
Part of the mission of our Foundation is to make sure the District has the people, resources and tools to meet the needs of each and every child enrolled in our schools.
